HELP! SAVE YOUR COUPONS!

Sarah Curran is collecting coupons for charity! It’s very simple the rules are as follows: Save all your coupons (even expired ones) no need to even cut them out, and Mail them to:

Curran Martial Arts Academy

221 Liberty Rd.

Crystal Lake, IL 60014

ATTN:COUPONS

*** Over the next few months we will be collecting unused coupons for the program called OCP, Overseas Coupon Program. This program serves military families by sending “manufacturers coupons” to overseas military bases. These bundles of coupons are given out for use by military members and families on base. Couponing truly helps these families stretch their budget.

If you receive coupons, we would really appreciate if you saved the ones you did not use. Collect as many as you can, and tell friends and family. YOU DO NOT NEED TO CUT THEM OUT. The deadline is DECEMBER 1, 2011. Please send whatever you can to the Academy. Thanks everyone! and thanks to Sarah Curran for the genius idea!

DREAM BOARD

I’ve wanted to make a dream board for some-time now. I finally got around to making one today. It’s nice to look at your dreams on paper right?!

The Use of Mental imagery is one of the strongest and most effective strategies for making something happen for yourself.

MY board is just getting started, and I will continue to add to it. You will mainly notice things about fashion on mine, and dresses. My main dream is to be able to create my own clothes for others to enjoy one day, and you see diary in the left hand corner, that is my other dream, writing… What are your dreams, look at them every day and then they don’t feel so out of reach

Grocery store RULES!

How I went from spending $1000 dollars a month on groceries to spending less than $400

I look back at my month receipts and cry! I can’t believe I was being sucked into the “one stop shop” grocery stores and totally buying things I didn’t need! Here are some of the rules I now live by, and I’m only spending 35-50 dollars a week on groceries,  might- I – add, with a Fighter in the house!

1. DROP A WEIGHT CLASS – Just kidding! Although we do eat less… haha

2. Shop at fresh Markets for produce- I started shopping at stores that specialized in what I buy which is produce, this way it’s fresher and cheaper.

3. Don’t do all your shopping in one place! – Although it’s convenient to  buy your toothpaste where you buy your bread, it’s not always the cheapest. Go to the Walmarts or Costco’s for items you use everyday toilet paper etc, don’t buy it at the grocery store!

4. Shop on the outside of the grocery store! – Ok so we have read this a million times, but have you actually tried it. Well I don’t know the last time I went to the inside aisles. The outside has all you need produce, dairy, deli, meat, etc. Inside is all packaged goods. Think fresh!

5. Go shopping alone! My husband even said to me, ” Since I don’t go to the store with you, we have been spending way less.” I think when you are together you are more likely to make impulse purchases, where as alone one person focuses on the list and bam!

6. MAKE A LIST! If you go to the store and have no clue what you need, you will end up buying a bunch of stuff YOU DON’T need! So make a list and meal plan and only buy those Items.

7. Shop once a week- This way you will eat everything you purchased instead of wasting or over buying. If you shop once or twice a month, chances are you aren’t eating many fresh items. Produce usually goes bad within a week, so buy shopping weekly you will have a better hold on what you are eating, and while it’s fresh.

These are a few tips that help me, and maybe you can take something away from this or maybe you just want to tell me to F off.

Have a good day!

A letter to my readers <3

Dear readers of my blog…..Forgive me for the neglect

I have been super busy this summer, massaging and spending time at the beach with my daughter. I’m very excited that my husband has made the drop to featherweight and will be fighting Tyson Griffin on October 29 in Las Vegas.

I will be adding dietitian to my job duties. I also will become a master hair colorist, as my husband is planning to sport a Pink mohawk in support of Breast Cancer for the month of October. I am very excited for the window of opportunities ahead and hope to find more time to share with all of you. I hope to post some delicious healthy recipes and adventures of weight cut!

Leave your Comments, I want to hear how everyone is :)
